Executives from TransCentra and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society spoke at the RDC Summit 2013 last month. In case you missed it, our professional reporters covered the session and we published the article entitled: Charity Closes In on Frictionless Donations Thanks to Remote Deposit Capture.

October 28, 2013 - TransCentra, a leading provider of billing and payment software and services, today announced that registered participants of fundraising events for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS), the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to curing blood cancer, can use TransCentra's mobile deposit software to capture and deposit checks via mobile devices.

"TransCentra's mobile deposit solution increases our fundraising opportunities and improves efficiency by facilitating check deposits virtually anytime, anywhere," said Jeff Como, CIO, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "By extending mobile deposit to participants, checks are conveniently deposited in real-time, providing them with immediate updates on their personal and team fundraising goals. They also save valuable time and money by not having to drive to a LLS chapter office or bank branch to make deposits."

With 61 chapters in the United States and Canada, LLS required a mobile deposit solution that combined imaging software with a robust risk management engine, Check 21 clearing capabilities and workflow management tools. Participants who register for LLS fundraising events such as Team In Training® and Light The Night® Walk simply download the My LLS mobile application on iPhone®, iPad® and Droid TM devices. With the app, users can easily capture, deposit and clear a transaction using a check image captured with a camera-equipped mobile phone expediting the deposit process, while adding convenience and an extra layer of security.

Since the initial nationwide launch in April 2013, LLS fundraising participants have used My LLS, to deposit more than $1.7 million in checks.

"Our partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provides convenience to LLS participants raising funds for such an important cause," said Lynn Boggs, CEO, TransCentra. "We are proud to be a part of these efforts by meeting participants' need to quickly deposit donations they receive. By harnessing the latest mobile technology, LLS is making it easier for individuals to fundraise while expanding the organization's footprint and awareness of its events nationwide."

My LLS dramatically reduces security threats for users by not storing any data or images on the user's phone. All communication is 128-bit encrypted and images are validated for Check 21. Once the user's logon credentials are authenticated, they are presented with a homepage that allows them to deposit checks and view event details as well as their personal and team fundraising results.
