RemoteDepositCapture.com Celebrates Eight Years Serving the Remote Deposit Capture Industry

Monday, April 22, 2013 (RemoteDepositCapture.com Press Release / RemoteDepositCapture.com)

RemoteDepositCapture.com sees a bright future for the RDC Industry. Industry evolution and expansion continues, led by Mobile Deposit, Small Business Initiatives and the ability to leverage RDC as an integrated receivables platform.
RemoteDepositCapture.com is celebrating 8 years serving the Remote Deposit Capture Industry this month. That’s 8 years as the only independent resource and platform for Remote Deposit Capture information, products and services.

John Leekley and Silvia Coba, both former bankers, launched RemoteDepositCapture.com in April 2005, just six months after the Check 21 Act went into effect. That legislation radically altered the financial services market by facilitating the advent of Remote Deposit Capture. Leekley and Coba saw an opportunity to create an open resource for advancing RDC and related initiatives. Today RemoteDepositCapture.com serves more than a quarter-million unique visitors every year.

As an independent resource, RemoteDepositCapture.com offers comprehensive and authoritative information about RDC – information that delivers real value to financial institutions, corporations, small businesses, solutions providers, end users, industry associations and even regulators. It is the only media channel dedicated to RDC. The market response has been overwhelming with millions of unique visitors to the website since it went on line, and a solid group of sponsors who together are responsible for over 90% of Remote Deposit Capture marketplace.

“Our Alogent Deposit Automation Solutions were original supporters of RemoteDepositCapture.com and we continue to find great value in the company’s wealth of information and resources. It has been a real pleasure to watch RemoteDepositCapture.com grow with the maturing Check 21 marketplace. I am happy to congratulate the company on eight strong years, acknowledging its expertise and significant contributions to the payments industry.” said Dave Foss, President of ProfitStars.

“The NCR Payments team has valued the partnership we have had with the RemoteDepositCature.com team,” said Denis Bergeron, Director of Product Management, Payment Solutions, NCR Corp. “They have provided valuable insights throughout the years.”

These are just some of the contributions RemoteDepositCapture.com has made to advance RDC.
  • Assisted the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) in developing regulatory guidance on RDC risk management.
  • Produced dozens of topical webinars, including several addressing the FFIEC’s risk management guidance, Mobile Deposit, and many more.
  • Helped thousands of organizations, large and small, find RDC solutions that met their unique requirements.
  • Developed RDC calculators that have allowed hundreds of banks and thousands of bank clients analyze expense reductions and savings based on unique deployment scenarios.
  • Organized and host the RDC Summit, the only industry conference devoted to the RDC Industry. It was at an RDC Summit that solutions providers first publicly broached the notion of using smartphones for Mobile Deposit.
“It’s remarkable looking back on how much RDC has evolved, and the role RemoteDepositCapture.com has played in that evolution,” said Coba. “And it speaks to the value of RDC that an organization such as RemoteDepositCapture.com has been able to persevere and thrive despite the broader economic challenges over the past several years.”

What’s next? “We see a bright future. We’ve only just scratched the surface of what RDC can do to help financial institutions, Corporations, Small Businesses and anyone who uses RDC,” said Leekley. “RDC is no longer just about checks. It’s about payments and data. We see RDC technologies and platforms being leveraged in tangential applications, such as photo bill pay, and we expect more focus on the seamless integration of RDC solutions with corporate receivables platforms and merchant payment solutions.”

RemoteDepositCapture.com will be exhibiting this month at NACHA Payments 2013, in San Diego. Attendees are invited to stop by Booth 817 to learn more about how RemoteDepositCapture.com can help your organization gain the most from RDC.
