Ensenta and Early Warning Join Forces to Combat Deposit Fraud

Wednesday, October 16, 2013 (Ensenta / Ensenta)

October 16 2013 - Ensenta and Early Warning announced that the Ensenta multi-channel remote deposit capture (RDC) platform is being integrated with Early Warning's real-time Deposit Chek® Service. Ensenta, an award winning Silicon Valley provider of innovative cloud-based imaging and self-service solutions for the financial services industry, provides RDC solutions that can be used from mobile phones, ATMs, merchant locations, homes and financial institution branches. Early Warning, a leader in fraud prevention and risk management for more than 20 years, delivers superior analytics and advanced capabilities including identity verification, account history and owner authentication to help organizations stop fraud at the door.

With this integration, Ensenta can provide financial institutions the ability to check deposited items from all RDC channels in real time against Early Warning's National Shared Database℠ resource, updated nightly with both positive and negative account status to reduce risk and improve fund availability policies.

Ensenta will also utilize Early Warning's National Shared Database resource to check for items deposited across financial institutions. While Ensenta already provides for duplicate item detection across its network, the integration with Early Warning supports industry-wide verification. In recent years, the industry has witnessed a proliferation of deposit channels. According to a Javelin Strategy and Research study in 2013, 64 percent of top banks now offer check deposits through smart phones, tablets or other devices. Depositing items multiple times through accidents or deliberate is a major issue in the financial services industry.

"Our collaboration with Early Warning builds on our history of building innovative solutions that balance superior usability with robust risk mitigation," said Ed Viera, president, Ensenta Corporation. "It is a force multiplier that casts an industry-wide net to ensure a safe remote deposit experience for financial institutions, consumers and businesses."

The new additions add depth to Ensenta's patented Agile Risk Management™ platform, which enables financial institutions to mitigate risk in real time across all points of deposit capture. True Day Zero risk mitigation is facilitated through more than 100 configurable risk filters, along with the optimal combination of human and automated review.

"Our teaming with Ensenta enhances the ability of its financial institution customers to more proactively combat deposit fraud," said Lou Anne Alexander, chief market development officer, Early Warning. "The combination of internal and external data with advanced analytics mitigates risk in real time without sacrificing the convenience customers have remote deposit capture."
