Conestoga Bank Mobile Deposit App Reaches $1 Million

Wednesday, February 29, 2012 (PRWEB / Conestoga Bank)

-

Conestoga Bank, a full-service community bank with branches throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, announced that its mobile deposit smartphone app surpassed $1 million in monthly deposits. That total was surpassed only months after the bank announced the Mobile Deposit app and just three months after unveiling its mobile banking app, mobile web service, and text banking service.

According to Richard A. Elko, Conestoga Bank’s president and CEO, the million-dollar milestone illustrates how consumers seek more convenience and innovation from their bank.

“Being able to deposit a check using your mobile phone is relatively new,” said Elko. “As a community bank, we worked hard to bring this convenience to our customers and we’re glad to see so many of our customers using it daily.”

In November, the bank unveiled its mobile banking suite, which allow customers with any type of mobile phone – smartphones, web-enabled phones, traditional handsets, or flip phones – to check balances, transfer funds, search transaction history, or, on smartphones and web-enabled phones, find one of 43,000 totally-free ATMs nearby.

Mobile deposit and the mobile banking suite are both major pieces of Conestoga Bank’s continued focus on technology and convenience. “Convenience is a hallmark of banking with Conestoga,” said Elko. “With the help of creative technologies, we’re redefining what that means.”

Conestoga Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Conestoga Bancorp headquartered in Chester Springs, Pa. Conestoga Bank is a full-service financial institution, with 14 branches in Center City and South Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, specializing in commercial loans, Small Business Administration, and leasing, along with convenient personal checking and savings products.
