Alternatives to in person site vists
We are exploring the option of using video technology to conduct site visits in place of in person.  Has any other FI considered or implemented something similar since the pandemic has made in person nearly imposssible?

RE:Alternatives to in person site vists
UMACHA conducts compliance services for both ACH and RDC including audits and risk assessments, at this time we do not feel its necessary for the video walk around.  However, for an FI that desires that to occur to complete the audit we would intertain that option and accomodate for our Remote services.  For first time audits we may consider this a requirement in the future if remote services become the norm vs outside the norm.

We are also considering video technology to conduct the site visits for our new customers. Have not reached a final decision.
On another note, do you all conduct onsite visits for all of your RDC customers, if so how often annually?  I would be interested to know what other FIs are doing.

Thanks

We are looking into sending an annual questionnair with security questions through Survey Monkey for our Low to Medium risk RDC customers and doing picking up annual site visits for High Risk starting once the pandemic is over.

RE:Alternatives to in person site vists
For 2020 we had our Board approve a policy exception to have customers self assess in place of site visits.  We then sent each RDC Client a Self Assessment Training Checklist via docusign that they completed and returned.  It is the same checklist we complete during a site visit.  This was acceptable for our Audit based on the Pandemic.  Not sure what we will do for this year.  I like the idea of using Video Technology as an option.

We have some data on what the industry has done regarding site visits... Look for an article later this month!

We are currently using a visual review of the stores. We need to have certain disclosures, CFPB information etc. to be visible by state. The merchant (agent) is required to complete a questionaire wiht our staff prior.

RE:Alternatives to in person site vists
We only do sites visits for high risk cusotmers based on an internal scoring methodology.  New clients that have been onboarded within the current year are visited but a drive by is sufficient.  We share best practices with the client as part of the annual audit and this can be done virtually.  This has reduce the number of required audits we need to complete each year.

RE:Analyzed Savings or MMA accounts on RDC

Do you mean RDC into SAV or MMA Accounts?  A consumer could RDC into a SAV or MMA I beleive. But for commercial customers you cant by law in most places co-mingle security deposits with regular funds due to the required accounting of those funds.  It creates a terribly challenging acco...

Analyzed Savings or MMA accounts on RDC

What would be some reasons why a Financial Institution would prohibit (or allow) RDC on Analyzed SAV/MMA?
