RDC Risk Management / FFIEC Guidance
There have been a number of individuals (including myself) who (mistakenly) understood that the upcoming FFIEC Guidance will not apply to Consumer Capture.... That is incorrect.

I have just confirmed, via a direct conversation with the appropriate regulators:

The FFIEC guidance on RDC will apply to all forms of Remote Deposit Capture, including Consumer Capture.

The upcoming FFIEC Guidance is primarily based upon the current state and experience of the industry (pre-september 2008), and as such is built upon the experiences of the industry to date, which is primarily a relationship between a corporaion or business and their Financial Institution. Nevertheless, risk management practices should be uniquely tailored to each FI and their RDC customer.

Currently, it is estimated the guidance will be issued in October 2008.

More on this subject, including RDC Risk Management Best Practices, will be posted soon.

Re: RDC Risk Management / FFIEC Guidance
Are you sure this is correct? At the GACHA Solutions 2008 conference (during the FFIEC presentation) I thought the presenter specifically stated that the FFIEC guidance would NOT address consumer capture. Please re-confirm that FFIEC guidance DOES cover consumer capture

Thanks for your post... Yes, I confirmed with the same presenter from the FFIEC. The FFIEC Guidance will apply to all types of Remote Deposit Capture, including Consumer Capture.

Re: RDC Risk Management / FFIEC Guidance
It seems only logical that the guidance would cover both the business and the consumer RDC. Thanks for the clarification

RE:Re: RDC Risk Management / FFIEC Guidance
I know that the FFIEC applies to all forms of remote capture but how does it cover mobile deposit? Should there be special guidelines for mobile deposit?

RE:USAA / MITK Patent Dispute – Impacts for the Mobile Remote Deposit Industry?

The provisional patents filed by Mitek were public the day they were filed in 2008. Did the USAA patent attorneys just miss them? It appears that the two have had a successful and award winning relationship over the years. In 2010 at a BAI conference in Chicago USAA and Mitek were individually aw...
