What is missing in your current RDC Solution?
Attention Banks, Credit Unions, Corporations and Businesses of all sizes: We want to hear from you!

We’ve had many requests come through our RDC Marketplace of RDC users unhappy with their current providers, and looking for a new provider. Issues range from an inability to export data to integrate into A/R and other systems to poor service and support with both the software and hardware.

Most of those looking for a new RDC Provider have been businesses of all sizes who are unhappy that their bank-provided service has not improved or added features since they signed-up 3 or more years ago. We’ve even had a few FIs with this complaint about their current RDC Technology / service provider.

So… let’s start an open discussion:
  • What is missing in your current RDC Solution?
  • What features / functionality are on your RDC “wish list”?
…and did you know you can post “anonymously” here in the RDC Forums?!?! Your screen ID can be anything you want it to be, and you can hide any / all personal information (you cannot do this on LinkedIn!).

We’re looking forward to hearing from you.

RE:What is missing in your current RDC Solution?
Security, features and functionality are important and should be constantly reevaluated based on customer needs. They also ad value and are important in selling the "value" of your RDC Solution to your customers. It should not always be a price discussion.

The Value of the RDC solution is about more than price. It is about ease of use, security, integration (into customer systems and into risk systems) and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) or the cost to administer and to support.

The value of the system includes all of these, most of which are behind the scenes capabilities but appreciated by your administrators, trainers, support desks and by the user of the RDC solution for deposits. For example; how easy is it to set up a new user and to make sure they have the right priviledges, level of access and review? How easy is it to export a CSV file, the right "flavor" CSV file, that can be used by the customer? What tools are there to help the help desk understand and solve problems? Just to name a few of the features that ad value and to get away from a discussion based on price.

RE:What is missing in your current RDC Solution?
John,

Good comments so far......

Here are a couple of advanced features / functionality that FTNI's customers has asked us for (and we delivered ;)

-  duplicate check detection across entire user base of receivable solution
- ability to handle post dated checks and deposit them at a future date
- ability for solution to upload daily invoice or collection files from customers and apply the payments directly to these invoices and then send the corrected file back to the back office system
- secured and encypted email system within the receivable solution - for internal users only - to pass on sensitive data
- ability to consolidate other payment methods (ACH, Cash, Credit Cards, Web) in addition to RDC payments and provide payment data into integrated back office solution / crm.
- The ability of a Merchant to retain multiple Banking relationships and settle transactions directly to all of them.

RE:What is missing in your current RDC Solution?
What about scanner functionality??? Are there functions you wish your scanner had? -And perhaps we should start referring to these devices as "RDC Terminals"??

Here are some thoughts on functionality...
  • USB Hub
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Franking
  • Auto-Storage
  • Item Destruction
  • Inkjet Endorsements in appropriate endorsement area
  • Credit Card  / Mag Swipe
  • Near-Field Communications
Any others?

  • cleaner uninstall and driver upgrades
  • a standard interface protocol or API similar to (but better than) TWAIN
  • better built in image cleaning and piggyback detection

RE:USAA / MITK Patent Dispute – Impacts for the Mobile Remote Deposit Industry?

The provisional patents filed by Mitek were public the day they were filed in 2008. Did the USAA patent attorneys just miss them?
